Conference “AI and Law” at the Turkish-German University: A Milestone in the Dialogue Between Technology and Law
From October 8 to 10, 2025, the Turkish-German University (TDU) in Istanbul became the centre of a significant scientific exchange: under the title “AI and Law,” renowned experts from Germany and Turkey gathered to discuss the profound impacts of Artificial Intelligence on legal systems. Following the official opening by the TDU’s overall coordinator, Prof. Dr. Ferit Küçükay, the Vice-Rector and Dean of the Faculty of Law, Prof. Dr. Hamide Özden Özkaya-Ferendeci, and the Faculty of Law coordinator, Prof. Dr. Gerhard Seher, the conference offered a three-day program featuring engaging lectures, in-depth analyses, and lively discussions.

Visit of Legal Trainees of the Hanseatic Higher Regional Court (Hamburg) at Our Faculty
A group of legal trainees from the Hanseatic Higher Regional Court (Hamburg) visited our faculty on September 23, 2025, as part of their scientific excursion. Within the framework of the visit program, a comprehensive presentation on our university, our faculty, and the legal education system in Türkiye was delivered by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Ahmet Batuhan Oyal, with the participation of our Vice Rector and Dean, Prof. Dr. Hamide Özden Özkaya-Ferendeci. Afterwards, an interactive session was held in the faculty’s moot courtroom, where the practical aspects of both the Turkish legal system and the legal education offered at our faculty were conveyed. The program concluded with tours of the campus and the libraries.

As part of their academic visit to Japan, the faculty members of our Department of Civil Procedure and Enforcement-Bankruptcy Law — Prof. Dr. H. Özden Özkaya-Ferendeci, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Anıl Köroğlu, Assist. Prof. Dr. Mikail Bora Kaplan, and research assistants Makbule Serra Korkut and Merve Güney — delivered a presentation at Kanto Gakuin University in Yokohama on November 26, 2024. The Japanese translation of the presentation has been published electronically in Volume 34, Issue 4 of the Kanto Gakuin Law Review journal.

From 7 to 25 July 2025, twelve successful first-year students from our faculty participated in a summer school programme at the Free University of Berlin. The programme was coordinated by Prof. Dr. Gerhard Seher and supported by the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD).
